Comment from happy Reader

It's really amazing how sometimes some people could affect us,inspire us, and motivate us.
Today... this post came to my mind... after reading one of the comments on my last blog...
Let me tell you who inspired me...

“ Thanks for some great ideas. I love books; I love the smell of books, a smell of a book store, a library. It is almost like they are alive, they all waiting to be picked up by someone, so they could share their wisdom. I know for sure if they were to talk they all would say “There wouldn’t be any purpose of my existence if it weren't for my readers.” I can't even imagine how a wonderful book may feel when the reader strokes each page, line it, highlight it, and fall asleep while holding it to their heart. It must feel so important and happy to make a person feel this way, to change life and to bring a smile, to inspire even for a moment.
I love old books...Especially old books I can't understand, but having them in my shelf makes me want to travel back in time. Get to know the writer and ask him to tell me the story again… watch him write with his own hand five hundred or more pages, a lamp in his side sipping his cup of tea.
This makes me wonder what's going to happen in the next 10 to 20 years. Would we have a collection of nook and kindle in our book shelves? Could we still use the saying “Don’t judge a book by its cover?” Would we look forward to the smell of kindle when open the box from apple or Amazon? In the middle of reading a wonderful book would we just hug the kindle to our heart and breath and wish it was a paper? Would there be any more book shelves, libraries and book stores? I guess time will tell…time will tell.”

Thank you...Negat

So what was your inspiration? who motivates you?...

Remember…
Unless you choose to do great things with it, it makes no difference how many books you have read in a year

Playing with Amaryllis part II

Welcome back to part II

These trumpet-like flowers that will take your breath away with their beauty

 belong to the genus Hippeastrum.

Many of them are native to Africa. One of the types is known as

African Amaryllis.

Oh…ya!

They bloom both in the house and in the garden. The amaryllis flower comes in a wide array of colors from red, rose, pink, white, orange, yellow, pale green, striped and multicolored. Some flowers have uniform colors or patterns on all six petals while others have more
pronounced colors on the upper petals than on the lower ones.

The large glorious flowers bloom from tube-like stems from a bulb that can live in a six inch clay pot, hardly enough dirt and to keep the plant from toppling over.

Like so often in life, great beauty stems from something small.

Wishing you all a fabulous rest of this week!

Playing with Amaryllis

...So beautiful.

I spent an hour or so playing with my Amaryllis yesterday.

I think the amaryllis is the most beautiful
and exotic looking flowers that I have ever seen.

When I met my husband he showed them to me one day and...

 I couldn't believe my eyes!

Now…amaryllis is one of my favorite flowers of all-time and..

If you're still with me... and can stand it..
Tomorrow I'll tell you what I have learned from Mr. philosophy.

Wishing you all a fabulous rest of this week!

It is all a gift to me…

Henri Rousseau said "Nothing makes me so happy as to observe nature and to paint what I see. Just imagine, when I go out into the countryside and see the sun and the green and everything flowering, I say to myself, 'Yes indeed, all that belongs to me!' "

That is such a wonderful quote. I love it….

Today, we’re sometimes so rash. We stomp out grass and destroy trees...

We cover everything with concrete...

We forget how a natural space of land both inspires us and calms us, and connects us to the beauty created for our joy.

We forget we need this, to live, to grow.

Nothing makes me so happy as to wander through secluded nature and...

remember that this was created by the greatest artist,

and, for the moment,...

it is all a gift to me…

 … just me.

The photo was taken in southern Orange County, Laguna Niguel, CA

A warm thank you for visiting and for all your kind comments.
Hope your paths take you through some wonderful places.
Wishing you all a fabulous Friday!

Mother's Day Ideas…

Mother's Day is coming tomorrow. So many of us get busy; some of us forget and regret it later when we remember, or when someone more thoughtful delivers a present or a deed, and we feel the lesser. Then there are some who just forget. Circumstances or learning left that vacancy in their hearts. Most of us are lucky this way: we can remember someone who loved us unconditionally, more than life, and dedicated a great part of her self to our happiness. I am sorry if this was somehow denied to you.

Do you look forward to Mother's Day, or is it a burden, or something you dread?  Do you have a mother you look up to and love? Do you have children who look up to you?

What does Mother’s Day mean to you?

For my own part, Mother’s Day is tinged with both happiness and sadness. I am blessed to have a wonderful mother whom I cherish & am still learning from.

But she is far away from me. it will be nice if I do special things for my mom. I think one day out of the year to “honor your mother” is nothing… For all her responsibilities, for all her care, ..  it should be recognized daily, by saying ... Thank You and I Love You .. Actually, the fourth commandment is not limited to a day.

Of course anything special gets commercialized, so we will have a day of crowded restaurants, a blip in purchases of sweaters and perfumes, cards with hearts.

Is time more precious than money? I like other ideas. I would write my mother a poem, or a letter. I would make her dinner. I would make her a card, with a picture and words we could share, because they were special between us.

Sure, I might buy her a gift, but I would be careful to avoid clichés, like chocolates she would never eat or fragrances she would never wear. It’s just that we know each other; I know what she would appreciate; she knows how much time or thought I invest in something.

Everyone who sells something wants to position what they are hawking as a great “Mothers Day Gift.” Unless I was enabling something she wanted, I would not buy her anything like a violin class or a membership. If she wanted to do these things, she would have pursued them.

I think the most important thing is to find some way to say, “Thank You. I appreciate all you did. I love you.

And maybe the best way is just to say it. That’s what I going to do. I’m going to call across the miles and say just that. I’m looking forward to it.

Happy Mother's Day dear Mom, My Deyie, Deyieyie, yene fikir...

And Happy Mother's day to all you mothers, grandmothers,

stepmother, daughters, sisters, aunts, and friends...
a  joyful day!
